Year 1
Year 1 thoroughly enjoyed the author visit this week. They learnt about where Mrs P had got the inspiration for her book as well as how she wrote her book. The children loved listening to the story and were able to talk about their own ‘botherbugs’

Year 2,3 and 4
Today we welcomed a children’s author into our school. Mrs P who is the author for the book titled ‘Jessie and JoJo. The book is focuses on worries and how we can get rid of them.
Mrs P spoke to us about her inspiration behind ‘Jessie and JoJo’ as well as her passion for caring for animals in Australia.
Year 5 and 6
Today we welcomed a children’s author into school. Mrs. P read her book to which was titled Jessie and JoJo. The book revolved around concerns and worries and how we can combat these.
Mrs. P also took time to talk about her career and answer questions the children asked. These included her favourite children’s books and authors and about her work caring for animals in Australia.
“I found it interesting that it took so long for her to draw the pictures. I thought that would be a quick bit.”
”There were some really cute animals that live in Australia. I liked the quokka. I hope she writes a book with it in.”
”Her favourite illustrator was Quentin Blake. He draws the pictures for Roald Dahl books.”
